The news is largely terrible, so sit back, relax, and enjoy something delightful for a change. Here's a thread of majestic snow leopards biting at their own ridiculously floofy tails.

The thread was created by Twitter user Rae Paoletta and quickly picked up other contributors. It seems there's an abundance of photos of snow leopards having a chomp at their tails, which is ridiculously pleasing.

The thread has gone viral over the last week with over 200,000 likes because LOOK AT THEM. But before you do, make sure you're near a hospital or at least a medical professional because they're so fluffy we can't promise you that you won't die.

Your tail isn't for eating, silly snow leopards.

Why do they do this?

"One main theory is that it uses its furry tail as protection from the harsh cold in the mountainous regions it lives in," one biologist wrote on Quora.

"In cold conditions, it is possible that this could prevent frostbite, as has likely evolved as a behavioral trait. In captivity, many snow leopards likely have this trait ingrained in their behavior, and thus perform it even if its not freezing cold outside. However, like all cats snow leopards do like to play, and biting their tail can also be interpreted an act to pass time."

Besides, if you had a tail that puffy can you honestly say that you would be able to resist?
