In the summer of 2014, some people stumbled across bizarre 30-meter-wide (100 feet) craters in the middle of Yamal Peninsula in Siberia, Russia.

All sorts of theories about their formation have flown around over the past two years, from asteroids to – inevitably – UFOs. However, the reality is perhaps even more startling. Scientist now think climate changed caused this freak geological blip.
