If you've ever smoked pot you'll probably have experienced the phenomenon commonly referred to as the munchies. Or in other words, the insatiable hunger - food becomes an absolute priority, and you just can't get enough of it. You'll come up with weird and wonderful (and on a normal day unthinkable) creations and recipes that will only go some way to sating your appetite.

So why does this happen? What is it about weed that causes you to become a bottomless pit?

Turns out, its not as simple as you'd think - instead of releasing hunger stimulating hormones, cannabinoids actually mess with hormones that regulate appetite, resulting in surpression of hunger. But, thats where endorphins kick in, which stimulate appetite - which confuses the system no end but eventually results in the urge to eat. Everything.

Take a look at Business Insiders video explaining it in more depth.
