Wildlife photography has the power to inspire and deeply move, but sometimes it’s also just plain funny.
The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards is back for another year, showcasing the derpiest and most hilarious photographs of animals out in the otherwise majestic natural world.
Unfortunately, entries for the competition have already closed. They've now released a shortlist of 40 finalists, some of which you can view below. They plan to announce the grand winner on November 9. The winning photographer will have an image that the judges feel is a balance between technical excellence and amusing content.
But fear not, it's not all at the expense of the animals – it’s for a good cause as well. Along with making you laugh, they hope to get people talking about conservation and wildlife. The Born Free Foundation, a conservation and wildlife charity, worked with the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards to make this competition possible.
