After further investigation, the police eventually found the negligent herder fast asleep, according to The Telegraph. The shepherd had meant to wait until 7 a.m. local time to lead the sheep through the city towards the Pyrenean mountain range for summer. However, by 4 a.m. sleepiness prevailed and the sheep, taking advantage, managed to break free.

The Policía Local Huesca have uploaded a video of the sheep tsunami to their Facebook page and confirmed that they were quickly able to redirect the flock back to where they had escaped and their rather sheepish shepherd. Although they do appear to be doing a pretty good job of negotiating that roundabout.
