Squint your eyes a bit and you can almost hear Richard Attenborough saying “Welcome to Jurassic Park.”
Golfers in Palmetto, Florida had their game rudely interrupted by an incredibly chunky alligator making its way to a lake by the third hole.
“That’s the biggest freakin’ alligator I have ever seen in my life,” said Charles Helms as he filmed the giant gator gently strolling across the green at Buffalo Creek Golf Course.
“You seen anything that big?! I think that’s two guys in an alligator suit,” Helms joked.
Believe it or not, the alligator is a regular at the golf club. "He has been here for a very, very long time, he's not new at all. There have been guesses that he's 15 to 16 feet long," pro shop clerk Wendy Schofield told News 3.
She added that the gator has also become quite the local celebrity: "People have heard that he is out here and that is all they want to see so they will bring spectators to ride so somebody can get a picture. He doesn't bother anybody and they don't bother him, he's like a mascot for the course.”
