Exploring the murky depths of the Puerto Rican sea, scientists from around the world have found many previously undiscovered marine creatures.
The scientists captured the footage (video below) and streamed it online in real time using a camera attached to a remote-operated deep sea vehicle, allowing them to roam further down into the waters than if they had sent divers.
“We're able to be in contact with up to 40 scientists a day,” said co-lead scientist Andrea Quattrini.
They also have an internet chat room to discuss their observations with experts in marine geology, oceanography and taxonomy.
