JWST Captures Stunning Merging Galaxies That Seem To Be Peering Back At UsThe image shows a large spiral galaxy whose main spiral arm is almost a semi circle, no other arms are present but wips of gas are extended around it, evidence of the merger. Next to it the elliptical galaxy mostly unaltered bu white gas extends from it to the spiral as well as creating a cone in the opposite direction.
