A video recently surfaced of a HUGE great white shark off the coast of Mexico that measures roughly 20 feet (6 meters) long and has an impressive girth. Observed by a local team of researchers, the incredible animal swam lazily around their cage, calmly inspecting the unusual object.
The first video of Deep Blue posted by Mauricio Hoyos Padilla, as she calmly swims around the cage.
Named Deep Blue by local researcher Mauricio Hoyos Padilla, the massive fish is one of the biggest great whites ever filmed.
The shark was captured on film in 2013 off Mexico’s Guadalupe Island. The video wasn't released until now because Hoyos Padilla only recently found the extra footage on his computer. He posted the video to his Facebook page on Tuesday exclaiming, “I give you the biggest white shark ever seen in front of the cages in Guadalupe Island… DEEP BLUE!!!”
At the time the video was taken, there was even more exciting news – Deep Blue was pregnant!
Through her 50 years of life, Deep Blue has successfully navigated not just the dangers in the wild, but of man-made threats like fishing lines and nets.
