Go big or go home has never applied to anything more than when British artists Bompas & Parr threw a barbecue this past June. Some people grill with charcoal while others prefer propane, but it takes a true badass to cook dinner over molten lava. High end grills can reach about 300°C (572°F), but Bompas & Parr wanted to cook on something a bit more intense. They flew all the way to use Syracuse University to use Dr. Robert Wysocki’s furnace that produces lava that is a scorching 1150°C (2100°F). If you want to sear a steak, this will definitely do the trick.
