The flamethrower in all its glory. The Boring Company

Elon Musk is selling a “flamethrower” because reasons. And you can buy one! Yay.

Not content with sending his car to Mars or digging a tunnel under LA, Musk revealed the $500 flamethrower on Twitter yesterday, which will start shipping at an unknown date in spring. He’s also selling a fire extinguisher for $30.

“Say hello to my little friend…” he posted, adding that the item was “guaranteed to liven up any party!”

It’s being sold as part of his “The Boring Company” company thing, which is building that tunnel we mentioned to transport cars on high-speed carts underground.

Through that company, Musk has been selling… hats. And in December 2017, he said if they sold 50,000, they would start selling a flamethrower.

Yes, those were some odd sentences to write.

"May not be used on Boring Company decorative lacquered hay bales or Boring Company dockside munitions warehouses," the description for the flamethrower reads on the website.

Why are they selling a flamethrower? Fun, I suppose. But it has been noted around the web that you can buy a comparable product elsewhere much cheaper, without the same “The Boring Company” branding.

As of earlier today, he said they had sold 7,000 flamethrowers, which amounts to $3.5 million. A safe projection would suggest sales are beyond $4 million by now, although Musk hasn’t posted an update in a while.

There are only 20,000 on offer so if you want one then, I guess, buy one soon? Gosh, the world is weird right now.
