It hasn't been the best couple of months for Elon Musk, but the world’s favorite CEO may just have a plan up his sleeve.

Musk – CEO of Tesla Motors and SpaceX – posted a mysterious tweet on Sunday, saying: “Working on Top Secret Tesla Masterplan, Part 2. Hoping to publish later this week.” The part 2 makes reference to a blog post he made in 2006 called "The Secret Tesla Motors Master Plan (just between you and me)," which revealed Tesla’s groundbreaking plans to release a selection of affordable electric family cars.

Elon Musk’s master plan to achieve this was to “Build sports car. Use that money to build an affordable car. Use that money to build an even more affordable car. While doing above, also provide zero emission electric power generation options. Don't tell anyone.” This plan went on to produce the models now known as the Tesla 3 and the Tesla S.

The tweet follows a fairly bad few months for Tesla Motors. In late June, authorities released their report on the death of a man who was killed in an accident involving a self-driving Tesla car. This was closely trailed by news that Tesla had missed their production targets and their shares had fallen over the past three months.

Nevertheless, if Musk is hoping to respark interest through his teasing tweet, it appears to be working. Reuters reports that shares rose more than 3.7 percent in early trade on the morning after the tweet.

Keep your eyes peeled for more Elon Musk tweets for the grand unveiling later this week.
