1496 Astronaut Captures Spectacular Image Of Planetary Alignment From Space
Abstract art or astral snapshot? Scott Kelly/Twitter.

These three points of light and swash of color amid darkness may appear to be abstract art, but they are actually quite familiar planetary bodies.

Scott Kelly is part of NASA’s One-Year Mission, a research project to study the mental and physical effects of long-term spaceflight. Starting from March this year, the differences that a year in space has on the body compared with a year on Earth will be examined between Kelly and his identical twin brother, Mark, by performing various physiological experiments on the siblings.
