Be warned: TikTokers may be using tampering with the universe using mystical Russian codes in your area.
A new trend has been spawned on the spirituality-wellness corner on TikTok that involves using "Grabovoi codes" to manifest their desires into the universe.
For the unaware, Grabovoi codes are a bit like “cheat codes” for reality, purportedly allowing their beholders to manifest desires into the universe whether it’s love, happiness, health, or wealth. Well-wishing dreamers must simply write down the numbers or chant the numbers – for instance, for good health, the code is 189 1014, apparently – and the wish will manifest, so it's claimed. Some other users have suggested you can also write the numbers in the air with your finger or set the numbers as your phone's passcode.
Within this slowly growing batch of TikTok videos, people are claiming that reciting these numbers can bring to fruition all manner of “manifestations,” including business success, fame, academic success, love, happiness, weight loss, and even growing taller. People even claim to have tested out these codes and achieved results (I guess the results haven't undergone peer review yet).
Needless to say, this is totally unscientific mumbo jumbo. The codes, developed by Russian numerologist and psychic healer Grigory Grabovoy, are loosely based on radionics, a form of alternative medicine that claims that disease can be treated by applying electromagnetic radiation. The idea is that the whole universe is made up of a unified electromagnetic field that we, as sentient beings, hold the power to alter this energy by... chanting random numbers?
Grabovoy is said to have made many outlandish claims regarding the codes. The Russian mystic fell into serious disrepute in 2008 when he was convicted of fraud after promising parents he could help resurrect their dead children. He was specifically accused of targeting the families of the people who died in the Beslan school hostage crisis, in which over 300 people were killed in the Russian town of Beslan in 2004 by Russian security forces and armed Chechen separatists. Grabovoy denies this and argues he was used by the Russian media to discredit the families of victims and distract from the government's poor handling of the crisis.
Even beyond this scandal, Grabovoy's claims are wildly controversial and totally unfounded. Sorry for the negative energy.
