Ah, the Internet. Once heralded as a new "information superhighway", the online world can sometimes resemble more of a wild west of memes and disinformation than the shining frontier of enlightenment we were promised. And despite millions of terabytes of collected human knowledge being literally just a click away, people are still confused about some pretty basic things.
OK, specifically, men are confused.
Last week, Twitter user @wahweepop posted a 76-character description of her date. It's fair to assume it didn't go well.
Listen, not every person can know everything, but adult humans of any gender should probably have learned at some point that a period typically lasts for two to seven days each month – any longer than that and you should think about seeing your doctor.
But the tweet started a wave of women offering their own stories of times they've been lucky enough to have their own anatomy explained to them. And, dudes, you really need to pick up a biology textbook.
But don't worry – periods aren't the only thing men don't understand. The pubic area generally seemed to cause some confusion...
... as well as some astonishing fertility-related mix-ups.
And if you thought it was only female-specific physiology that's such a mystery, well...
In fact, it turns out some guys aren't even too sure about their own anatomy.
Although his views on breastfeeding actually make the whole thing sound a bit more appealing.
But wait, it gets worse. much worse.
