The world will finally come to an end today. Monday, amirite? According to Christian conspiracy theorist David Meade, there is a biblical prediction that links a rare planetary alignment – the coming of the mysterious planet X – and the beginning of the rapture.

“And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of 12 stars. She was pregnant and was crying out in birth pains and the agony of giving birth,” Revelation 12:1-2 states.

As reported by British tabloid Daily Express, Meade believes that this cosmic doomsday vision will happen on April 23, 2018. Today. *Cue dramatic music* So, what is actually happening in the sky to herald the beginning of the end for humanity? Let Mr Meade explain.

He told the Express: “During this time frame, on April 23, 2018, the moon appears under the feet of the Constellation Virgo. The Sun appears to precisely clothe Virgo… Jupiter is birthed on April 08, 2018.”

I’m quite confused. The Sun is currently in Aries, so I’m not sure how it clothes Virgo. The Moon is in Leo, which is next to the head of Virgo, so nowhere near the feet. And Jupiter is in Libra, and it was also there on April 8. All my statements can be verified here or on planetarium software that's available.

“The 12 stars at that date include the nine stars of Leo, and the three planetary alignments of Mercury, Venus and Mars – which combine to make a count of 12 stars on the head of Virgo. Thus the constellations Virgo, Leo and Serpens-Ophiuchus represent a unique once-in-a-century sign exactly as depicted in the 12th chapter of Revelation. This is our time marker,” he continued.

Leo either has 10 stars or 15 depending on how you count them, and it might be worth stating that the shape of the constellations are made up. The stars in them are not related to each other. Ancient civilizations saw shapes in the sky and gave them names. And finally, Mars, Mercury, and Venus are not in alignment today and are nowhere near Leo or Virgo.

This is not just a stupid conspiracy theory, it’s sloppy. Pathetically so. Conspiracy theories are lies. The best lies are based on truth with some fictional elements peppered in here and there. Go online and do some basic research!

Conspiracy theorists, these days. They want everyone to believe their insanity, but they are not willing to put it in the work to make it believable.
