Efforts to stop the spread of the coronavirus have forced school closures around the world, shutting down buildings and ceasing in-person teaching. But parents around the country are stepping up their homeschool game to ensure that their kids still receive a proper education – and sharing their fails in the process.

It’s estimated that at least 124,000 public and private schools in the US are closed, impacting at least 55 million students, reports Education Week. Data compiled by the publication shows that as of now, nearly every state has closed schools at least through the end of the month, some going so far as to shut down schools until the end of the academic year.

For some, it's going to be a long next few months. Fair warning: there are a lot of (accidental?) penis-related things going on.

Some kids are picking up on their parents' stress, like Ben who couldn't emphasize enough in his homeschool journal that things are "not going good."

-

Other kids are beginning to think attending school is nothing compared to their parents' attempts at playing teacher.

This step-by-step account from one mother accurately outlines the 0 to 100 thought process of every parent-turned-teacher.

"I nailed this homeschooling thing for exactly 3 minutes before crazy started coming out of my mouth.

There’s only ONE of me and FOUR of you. BE PATIENT!
.
Is THIS how you act at SCHOOL?!
.
Speaking of four of you WHERE IS YOUR SISTER?
.
Because he’s a BABY! Watching Frozen 2 IS HIS HOMEWORK."

Trying to have a moment to yourself stay-at-home, work-from-home, teach-from-home parents? Nice try.

In the midst of all of this, there is a large consensus that teachers deserve much more money than they currently make.

And parents, no matter how overwhelming this whole homeschooling thing may appear...
