The female orgasm has always been a complicated topic, with many men still unable to quite get their heads around it. However, it looks like those with a funny bone might be in for a treat.

Who doesn’t enjoy a good laugh? Someone who can make you make you cry with laughter mid-conversation? Most of us! In fact, research recently published in Socioaffective Neuroscience & Psychology notes that humorous, creative, and emotionally warm men more often made for high orgasmic partners. 

The research was carried out by 103 single women, aged 20 to 69, who completed an approximately 71-minute survey on their sexual past. Women who were in committed relationships weren’t part of the survey because those conducting it believed “those in a relationship may feel obliged to rate their current partner more favorably than is strictly true.”

 

The survey's aim was to find out which traits in men provide women with the most enjoyable orgasms. Attractiveness (duh) was a factor in achieving great orgasms. This suggests that attraction allows women to experience intimacy at a much higher level.
 

According to the research, the best experiences women had were with men with positive characteristic traits. “Partners who induced high-orgasm rates were rated as more humorous, creative, warm, faithful, and better smelling than partners who induced low-orgasm rates, and also engaged in greater efforts to induce partner orgasm," the study notes.
 

The team did point out some limitations of their study, including the difficulty in parsing out which characteristic seems to contribute most to female orgasm. "For instance, greater levels of humor and creativity may simply contribute to ratings of attractiveness, which in turn increases the likelihood of orgasm."

 

It's also possible that high-orgasm partners engage in activity more likely to bring about an orgasm. Still, a funny bone and a warm personality never hurt!
