The Internet is notoriously amazing/horrible at naming things. Just look at the recent online poll that might end with a multi-million dollar Antarctic research ship named “Boaty McBoatface.”
Continuing in this spirit, Twitter has been getting inventive with the hashtag #TheInternetNamesAnimals. Tweets have been suggesting names of animals which, quite frankly, scientists should have used in the first place. After all, who was it who missed out on the opportunity to name a stingray a “Flappy McPancakeFish?”
