Wave those white-tipped legs around, shake that abdominal flap, and dance from side to side—male peacock spiders (Maratus volans) will do all that and more to lure the attention of females. It is a risky endeavor considering the ladies will pounce and eat them for dinner if they are too persistent with their dance moves when they have shown disinterest.

In an entertaining video, Dario Trovato has paired the courtship ritual of the peacock spider with the YMCA song. The footage was shot by Jürgen Otto. For more iridescent displays, check out his Youtube channel and Flickr photostream.
