Ok, so this is from a year ago, but it’s so awesome that we thought we would show it to you again.

The picture above was uploaded to imgur by Reddit user Philawesomeraptor. It’s a high resolution image of the stitches in the eye of Philawesomeraptor's girlfriend after she received a cornea transplant for a degenerative condition called keratoconus (KC). KC is where the cornea (the transparent layer that covers the front of the eye) gradually gets thinner, causing various visual distortions such as halos and multiple images.

Not sure I’d ever want to be in this person's shoes, but showing off these awesome stitches to friends might be worth the pain that apparently came with the surgery (injections into the eyeball- ouch...).
