Whether it’s putting your leg behind your head or licking your own nose, humans are full of weird little tricks that the majority of people can't do. But a lot of them can be explained with science.

This video by #Mind Warehouse shows a selection of 10 of these strange “glitches” of the body, then explains how they work and even how you can learn how to do them.

Take ear wiggling, for example. Unlike pretty much all other facial muscles, the muscles in our ear have their own control area for muscle function, known as a accessory nucleus, in the brainstem. It’s pretty small compared to other animals, which primarily rely on hearing, but some humans have a more finely-tuned control of this muscle. For those who can’t aurally wiggle, you can actually train up the muscles by performing some simple exercises.
