The trailer for a Discovery Channel episode in which a filmmaker claims he went inside the jaws of an anaconda and lived to tell the tale has been released. In the trailer, Paul Rosolie dons a “snake-proof suit,” smothers himself in pig’s blood, and lunges for the snake before the clip goes black.
In the time since the news of his stunt has gone viral, Paul Rosolie has taken to twitter to clear a few things up. After a recent outpour of disgust about hurting the anaconda, Rosolie wrote: “If u know me - I would never hurt a living thing. But you'll have to watch #EatenAlive to find out how it goes down!"
He also commented with a photograph marked with these words: “Throughout history snakes have been one of the most feared and misunderstood animals on earth. They have been persecuted, killed, and intentionally exterminated perhaps more than any other animal. But in the last 48 hours, thousands of people from all over the globe have spoken out and petitioned in defense of a snake. It is a passionate and sweeping response that is encouraging to watch.”
Whether the "eaten alive" stunt is also riveting to watch remains to be seen.
EATEN ALIVE airs on Sunday Dec. 7 at 9/8c on Discovery.
